What is VENO Fleet?
VENO Fleet is a free naval battle game that runs in your browser. Each side hides five ships on a 10×10 grid and the two commanders take turns calling shots until one fleet is gone. The difference from the paper version is what happens after you pick a square: the sea has real waves, the guns fire, the shell arcs through the air with the camera following it, and a hit ship smokes, lists and finally sinks.
How to play
First you position your fleet: a five-cell carrier, a four-cell battleship, a three-cell cruiser, a three-cell submarine and a two-cell destroyer, each placed horizontally or vertically. Then the hunting begins. Every turn you call one square and the answer is Miss, Hit or Sunk, with the name of the ship you just destroyed. Squares you have already fired on are locked, so no turn is ever wasted by accident.
Modes to suit the mood
Classic plays by the strict rules with no extras. Arcade gives each ship a one-use weapon: the carrier calls an air strike down a row, the battleship fires a 2×2 salvo, the cruiser sweeps a 3×3 radar scan, and the submarine sends a torpedo running until it meets steel. Lose the ship and you lose its weapon. Salvo mode lets you fire one shot per surviving ship each turn, and hot-seat puts two players on the same device with a “pass the screen” cover between turns.
Score and stars
A win is scored from what you have left and how efficient you were: a base of 1000, plus 50 for every ship cell still afloat, minus 10 for each shot you fired, plus a bonus for the difficulty you chose. Accuracy decides the stars — below 35% earns one, 35 to 50% earns two, above 50% earns three. It is a small number that turns every careless shot into something you feel.
Options that change the hunt
Two rules can be switched on before a battle: “no touching”, which stops ships from sitting next to each other even diagonally, and “hit means shoot again”, the classic house rule. The AI comes in three levels, from a polite opponent that shoots at random to one that hunts your ships properly once it finds them.
Phone and desktop, nothing to install
The whole game runs client-side in the browser, so there is no download and no account. Settings, statistics and an unfinished battle are stored locally, and a match takes five to ten minutes — about one commute.
